We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website, withmarco.co.uk. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, contact us at privacy@withmarco.co.uk.

This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through the Marco marketing site and the forms on it: the tenant waitlist, the landlord register-interest and property submission forms, and city guide requests. Marco is a pre-launch platform, so at this stage the site is for sharing information and registering interest.

Information you give us. When you use a form on the site, we collect the details you enter. Depending on the form, this can include:

• Your name and email address
• Your phone number, where you choose to provide it
• The city or cities you are interested in
• For landlords and agencies: the type of landlord you are, the number of properties you manage, and details of a property you submit, such as its location, type, rent, availability, and any notes you add

Information we collect automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic usage information to understand how the site is used and to improve it. This includes the pages you view, the type of device and browser you use, an approximate location based on your IP address, and how you interact with the site. We also record which link or campaign you arrived through, where that information is available.

We use your information to:

• Add you to the waitlist and let you know when Marco launches in your city
• Review landlord and property submissions, and contact you about listing with Marco
• Send the confirmation and follow-up emails relating to your enquiry
• Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
• Keep the site secure and prevent misuse

Under UK data protection law, our legal bases for using your information are your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving Marco, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

We will only email you about the thing you signed up for, such as your place on the waitlist or your interest in listing a property. We will not sell your details or pass them to third parties for their own marketing. You can opt out at any time by contacting us at privacy@withmarco.co.uk.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site and its forms. They process your information on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes we set:

• Supabase, for secure database hosting and storage
• Resend, for sending transactional emails
• PostHog, for privacy-focused product analytics, hosted in the EU
• Vercel, for website hosting

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if we are required to by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we take steps to make sure your information is protected by appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, for example until Marco launches in your city and we have been in touch, or until you ask us to delete it. After that, we securely delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
• Ask us to delete your information
• Ask us to restrict or stop using your information
• Object to how we use your information
• Ask us to transfer your information to another provider
• Withdraw your consent at any time

We use PostHog to understand how visitors use the site. It may set cookies or use similar technologies stored on your device to measure page views and interactions, and to help us improve the experience. We may also capture anonymised recordings of how people move through the site to diagnose problems and improve usability; these mask the text you type into forms.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and we will ask for your consent to non-essential cookies where this is required.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, so please check back occasionally.
